Owensboro Grain Company in Kentucky is now building a 22 million US$ biodiesel production plant that should open in June of 2007.
With a capacity of some 50 million gallons of yearly biodiesel, it will become one of the largest biodiesel plants in the entire continental United States.
Along with the expanding development and construction of biodiesel plants nationwide, Owensboro Grain is part of the nations estimate for another 50 plants by the end of next year, adding a total of 714 million gallons of biodiesel to our currently unsustainable fleet of petrol based fossil diesels.
By the year 2015, Owensboro Grain hopes to see our nations demand for sustainable non-polluting biodiesel to increase from 75 million to 650 million.
According to the Kentucky Clean Fuels Coalition the states diesel engine fleet began to use biodiesel in April of 2005, and within nine months time had already used some 240,000 gallons total of biodiesel based purely on soybean production.
Owensboro Grain Company will open the way for less dependence on foreign oil in the state of Kentuckyand bring sustainable biodiesel fuels one step closer to quenching our nations thirst for green living.
While demand is high, production is still low, and Owensboro Grain Co. is fighting for our countries energy independence, with biodiesel investments that make the difference.
